What we want to avoid:

Projects that don't actually require students working in a cross-curricular way.

A lack of planning leads to teachers falling back on doing what they always do.

We don't want to over-plan. We want to present students with real-world problems. Each unit is a "problem." We create an "activity" in Markboard with all the expectations and we check them off when we see them.

We want to have an ongoing reflective portfolio component but the medium will be up to the students. Youtube channel, blog, podcast. A fun activity to kick off the course. Have them look at exemplars and generate anchor charts. Component of Course Culminating Task. How do we take the idea of a digital portfolio but make it more engaging.

Discovering that Sesame Pro might be a better fit for assessment purposes than Markboard because we can attach expectations to "snaps" or observations. We can have multiple teachers in one class and we can have more than one set of expectations.But the premium version is $120.00 per teacher per year so we need to find out if we can shift some of our money to pay for it. Does it have an Insight feature similar to the one in Markboard though?
